The Walmer Golf Club was established in 1897, making it one of the country of South Africa's oldest clubs. Depending on the wind direction, the 9-hole course's 18 tee boxes and surrounding golf estate offer a variety of difficult holes. Although the signature par-3 sixth hole is only 127 metres long, a precise tee shot is necessary to avoid the perilous pond that runs along the front and right of the green. The clubhouse was rebuilt along with the upgrading of 5 of the 9 greens during the construction of the Golf Estate in 2005, adding more undulations and supplying a more stable putting surface. The clubhouse's top floor caught fire in 2016 as a result of an unforeseeable tragedy, necessitating renovation and a facility upgrade. With its large space and welcoming staff, the Clubhouse can accommodate small or large groups and extends a warm welcome to both members and guests.
