If you walk around Stellenbosch, you will get to see how it is home to spectacular colonial Dutch architecture. The Stellenbosch Tourism and Information Bureau organizes one and half hour guided tours from Monday to Friday. If you like exploring things on your own, grab a copy of the brochure "Historical Stellenbosch on Foot" from the Bureau for R5 and help yourself!
The Stellenbosch Village Museum comprises four houses which are historically significant. Each house tells about a different stage of development in terms of architecture in the town. Power House and Fick House provide a glimpse into the Dutch architecture at its best. Theological Seminary is also worth a visit!
The Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek valleys make the Cape Winelands. This is one of the larger wine growing areas in South Africa.
