My life revolves around dogs, and one day while I was bringing my dog to an obedience class, something suddenly clicked and I knew I wanted to do more. I gave my notice at work in 2015 and started studying canine behaviour and enrolling in group classes to learn everything there was to know about dogs. I finished the Ethology Academy's Basic Animal Behavior Course for Dogs in 2016. Applied dog ethology, animal problem behavior, animal behaviour in general, and dog care and welfare were all topics covered in this course. I taught classes on my own at all levels and gave owners helpful advice on a range of behavioural issues that their puppies were experiencing. All of this took place in Johannesburg, after which I moved to Cape Town in December 2019 and launched Puppy Power.
