It started out as a group that defended cross-border traders before later extending its reach into the fields of politics, education, health, and child welfare. Cross-border traders and members of the diaspora have been helped by ICTA with the necessary information and practical support. ICTA has served as a mediator in cases where there would be a dispute between governments and cross-border traders or immigrants. For example, the ICTA was in the forefront of pushing the government of Zimbabwe to abolish its statutory instrument number 64 of 2016 that prohibits the importation of basic commodities into Zimbabwe. The organisation led a mass protest at Africas busiest border Beitbridge on the 2nd of July 2016 leading to temporary closure of the border for the first time since it was opened in 1929. The Robert Mugabe administration was shaken by the protest before that law was changed. On that day, more than 20,000 ICTA members demonstrated. The organisation was also in the forefront of engaging the government of South Africa to renew Zimbabwe Special Permit which they accepted and now known as Zimbabwe Exemption Permit. Beginning on February 1st, 2016, the organisation negotiated the South African government's issuance of the Lesotho Special Permit. Free trade throughout the world, democracy and freedom in every nation, universal access to education, and the rights to health and education should be viewed as fundamental freedoms. I could not have asked for a more ideal location than right next to the stunning Victoria Lake, which is now known as Germiston Lake. I will return soon because of the fantastic food, very reasonable prices, family-friendliness, and amazing staff. We provide catering for all occasions, including special events and children's birthday parties.
