Sara was born Sarah Jane, but she now goes by Sara Sin (pronounced Sara Shaan), the Welsh name her Welsh grandfather gave her. Currently, Sara Sin lives in George, in South Africa's Western Cape, with her husband Dion, their two children, Bethany and Joshua, and their Golden Retriever studio assistant Marley. Sara successfully practised art for a number of years in the UK while taking part in various exhibitions after earning a BA Honours Degree in Illustration from Liverpool John Moores University before giving in to her desire to travel. Before settling in South Africa in 2001, Sara Sin spent a year travelling throughout Africa and South America. After that, Sara focused on raising her children while running a lucrative graphic design business for many years. Sara's intense desire to paint and produce art, however, has always been present in her thoughts and is once more the centre of her attention. The town of Brighton in the UK served as the subject and inspiration for Sara's earlier work due to the abundance of beautiful and striking architecture, with the famous West Pier serving as a dominant feature. As a result, the West Pier Trust hired Sara to paint the nearly abandoned Grade 1 Listed Pier, which was then given to HRH The Prince of Wales. Sara's love of African wildlife and its people, on the other hand, is a theme that has more recently emerged. Africa, however, changed Sara's creative focus. Sara Sins' most recent work is striking and emotive, expertly and beautifully capturing the essence of the subject matter. Sara Sins typically works in oils or mixed media and likes to incorporate gold leaf.
